Map of Truth

In all the Universe there are 37 truths.

The Original Truth

6 primary truths:

(A; B; C; D; E; F);

6 pure secondary truths:

(AA, BB, CC, DD, EE, FF);

6 mixed secondary truths:

(AB, BC, CD, DE, EF, FA);

6 pure tertiary truths:

(AAA, BBB, CCC, DDD, EEE, FFF);

12 mixed tertiary truths:

(AAB, ABB, BBC, BCC, CCD, CDD, DDE, DEE, EEF, EFF, FFA, FAA);

These are the truths that sustain the whole universe of this game.

In the figure below we have the image of a truth map, all players will have one of these with them and will have one of these maps in the center of the players circle.

The Original Truth is the all-black central hex, this is an unshakable truth and will always exist in the game.

The other truths are always contrary to each other. In a Map of Truth we can see that with the exception of the Original Truth, for all the others, there is always a symmetrically opposite truth. In this case, it is truths that oppose, statements that contradict each other directly.

So for example: If the Truth A is the Earth having a flat shape, the Truth D could be the Earth’s spherical shape. If A is true, then D is false, if D is true then A is false. The fact is that both truths can not coexist.

a versus b

At the secondary truths and tertiary truths, this can be sustained by both a primary truth and truths of the same or lower grades (in which case a tertiary truth is supported by secondary truths).

For example: Even if A is false or undefined (whether because D exists, or A is not well defined), if FF or BB exist, we can construct adjacent truths FA or FB. And adjacent to one of them, build the AA truth. In the gif below:

  1. A and B is not defined as a truth;
  2. The Blue player builds the truth F;
  3. Based on the truth F, the Green player builds the FF truth;
  4. Based on the FF truth, the Red player builds the FA truth;
  5. Based on the FA truth, the Blue player builds the AA truth;
  6. Based on the AA truth, the Green player builds the AB truth;
  7. Based on the AB truth, the Red player builds the BB truth.

The idea of this game action is to simulate non-mathematical argumentation. Where a secondary fact is used to imply another secondary fact. For example:

  1. The Earth is flat;
  2. Then the Sun acts like a lamp that illuminates different places of the Earth throughout the day;
  3. Then the light we see from the Moon is a light of its own, so the Moon is a luminous body;
  4. Then there must be a Black Body that flies over the Earth and covers the Moon, thus generating its different phases.

To play

There is a Truth Map for each player and one in the center, the central map has the Original Truth. The game has 36 chips of truths. There are also 36 blank tokens. The chips are split equally among all players.

All truths are placed with the empty part facing up, and for each truth placed on the central map, the same player places a truth chip on their own Truth Map to record their achievements.

  1. If a player has a truth that is already occupied in the central map, it may reveal that that truth on the central map is empty.
  2. Revealing its truth as the authentic, destroying it and then putting its truth face up in its place.
  3. The player with the false truth loses that piece on his own map and also those who depend on it for sustenance.

If a player puts on the map a contradictory chip of truth, both players who own these truths, look in secret at the truths that contradict each other:

  1. If there is one real truth and one empty, the empty one is eliminated and the remaining one can be placed face up;
  2. If there are two empty truths, both are destroyed and secretly deleted from the other players;
  3. If both are authentic, both are destroyed and eliminated in secret from the other players.

When one player destroys the truths of the other, whoever was responsible for the destruction gets their credits.

  1. Primary Truths, 20 points;
  2. Pure Secondary Truths, 25 points;
  3. Mixed Secondary Truths, 30 points;
  4. Pure Tertiary Truths, 35 points;
  5. Mixed Tertiary Truths, 40 points;

At the end of the game, the truths that have remained sustained are rewarded.

  1. Primary Truths, 40 points;
  2. Pure Secondary Truths, 50 points;
  3. Mixed Secondary Truths, 60 points;
  4. Pure Tertiary Truths, 70 points;
  5. Mixed Tertiary Truths, 80 points;

The game ends when an entire branch connected to a primary truth is filled. Or finish the chips of all players.

Special moves

  1. A player may discard a chip to look at all discarded truths;
  2. The player can also discard a chip to look at all the truths in play;
  3. A player may discard two chips to remove a piece from the discard pile (In this case, this play may be combined with the play to see which chips of the discard pile, otherwise the player would have to randomly pick up a chip from the discarded);
  4. The player may sacrifice one chip per round to sustain a already destroyed truth (when the player stop to pay from this chip, the chip will be destroyed).
